Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Shedams. By using our app, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Shedams mobile application and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.
2. Description of Service
Shedams is a community-centric fitness lifestyle app that provides:
- Activity tracking for walking, running, and cycling
- Gamified fitness features including quests, challenges, and achievements
- Social features including leaderboards and community challenges
- Health and wellness insights
3. Account Registration
To use certain features of our Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be responsible for all activities under your account
Users under 13 must have parental consent to create an account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Impersonate others or provide false information
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or exploit the Service
- Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
- Cheat or manipulate fitness data or leaderboards
5. Health Disclaimer
Important: Shedams is designed for general fitness tracking and motivation. It is not a medical device and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Consult a healthcare provider before starting any exercise program
- Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or discomfort
- The calorie and health metrics provided are estimates only
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Shedams and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (such as profile photos and posts). By submitting content, you grant Shedams a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Service.
8. Auto-Renewing Subscriptions
Shedams offers an optional auto-renewing subscription called Shedams Premium which removes advertising and unlocks advanced workout analytics. The information in this section is required by the Apple App Store (Schedule 2 of the Apple Developer Program License Agreement) and the Google Play Subscriptions policy.
8.1 Plans, length, and price
- Shedams Premium — Monthly: 1 month, £3.99 per month.
- Shedams Premium — Yearly: 12 months, £39.99 per year (equivalent to £3.33 per month, ~17% saving versus monthly).
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency at checkout and may differ from the figures above due to currency conversion, regional pricing, and applicable taxes set by Apple or Google.
8.2 Auto-renewal
Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) for the same length and at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your payment method on file with Apple or Google will be charged automatically.
8.3 Free trials and introductory offers
If you accept a free trial or introductory offer, the trial converts into a paid subscription at the standard price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Each Apple ID or Google account is eligible for one free trial per subscription product.
8.4 Managing or cancelling your subscription
You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time:
- iOS / iPadOS: Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or use apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Android: Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or use play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access to Premium features until then. Deleting the Shedams app does not cancel your subscription.
8.5 Refunds
All payments are processed by Apple or Google, not by Shedams. Refunds are governed by the policies of the platform you purchased on:
- Apple: request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google: request a refund through the Google Play order history.
8.6 Changes to subscription pricing or features
We may change subscription prices or features. Material changes are notified through the app or by email at least 30 days in advance, and Apple or Google will additionally ask you to consent to any price increase before charging it.
8.7 Required links
By subscribing you agree to these Terms of Use (EULA) and our Privacy Policy. The Apple Standard EULA also applies to subscriptions purchased through the App Store and is available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Termination of your Shedams account does not automatically cancel an active subscription — please cancel through Apple or Google as described in section 8.4.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shedams shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
11. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved by Arbitration first, and, if not resolved, in the courts of England & Wales or Nigeria.
